Hospitals
We have three hospitals in larger centres and six rural hospitals located in smaller townships, all are detailed below.
The rural hospitals are community-owned generally through a local community trust or company arrangement, with the exception of Lakes District Hospital in Queenstown (which is owned by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Southern). Funding comes mostly from THealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Southern, whilst community support and private contracts provide additional revenue.
