Clinical service re-design

Primary and secondary/tertiary services are better connected and integrated. Patients experience high quality, efficient services and care pathways that value their time.

A new programme - Valuing Patients’ Time is looking at how we can improve the experience of our Southern community through our hospitals and beyond.

Most of us know someone who has had to wait in hospital whether that’s for a bed, for diagnostics, surgery or other treatment, or to be discharged home. Too often patients do not leave our care as soon as they should.

We value our patients’ time and we want to find ways for our patients to have a smoother journey through our health system.

We have keen and motivated staff who want to make change and who are taking the lead on many initiatives that are underway across our services.

This is not just about healthcare now, it’s about healthcare in the future and effectively managing the increasing demands on health services in the most effective and responsible way.

It follows that if we value our patients’ time, we value our staff time by providing more time to care for our patients.
