Tuapeka Community Health

    To ensure the provision of community input to primary health services to a high standard for the people of the Tuapeka District utilising health professionals in the area to the maximum.  Using their skills to enable care within our community whenever possible either in the people's home or at the community owned Rural Health Centre which will administered by a charitable company and made sustainable for future health needs and requirements.

    The Lawrence Rural Health centre offers a full range of primary health care services:

    • General practice
    • Accidents and emergency
    • Wellchild & health care
    • Minor surgery for skin cancer, moles etc
    • Blood tests
    • Driver's licence tests
    • Mental health service (0800 364 462)
    • Diabetes clinic
    • Maternity - advice on choice of maternity services, antenatal & postnatal
    • Rest home
    • Long and short term residential care
    • Respite care
    • Palliative care
    • Short stay medical care
    • Registered nurse onsite daily & on call 24hrs
    • Meals on wheels
    • Van outings
    • Friendly family environment​​
