    Programme

    Adult Residential Treatment

Clients live as a family, sharing all the tasks of running the house including catering, cleaning, gardening and providing their own entertainment. The more senior residents act as role models for the newer residents. Clients must be highly motivated to make positive lifestyle changes and open to Therapeutic Community Concepts of 'My Recovery is Your Recovery'. The four cornerstone model of Te Whare Tapa Wha is incorporated into assisting clients to make lifestyle changes.

    Supportive Detoxification

Managed Withdrawal (Social Detox) is available for Nelson/Marlborough clients only. This is a 7-day period and will be under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Clinical staff. Clients utilising the social detox bed will be expected to participate in some of the programme sessions, however, each individual is assessed as to their wellness and the 7-day detox period can be a settling in and rest time for clients who have come directly to St Marks following a Medical Detox.

    After Care

St Marks Clinical Team provides support for clients after their departure.  Groups for Nelson/Marlborough are run outside of programme hours and clients can make contact with St Marks anytime.

Each client is assigned a counsellor prior to their entry and their counsellor will continue to follow their progress and give support post treatment.
