    Mirror Services is an Otago based organisation that delivers counselling and treatment programmes for children, young people and their whanau in the Otago/Southland region.

    Programme

    Mirror HQ - Youth Addiction Service

    The focus of this service is to help you:

    • Address alcohol and other drug related issues and reduce associated harm
    • Improve wellbeing and mental health
    • Take charge of your life
    • Clarify difficult situations and find new solutions
    • Improve your quality of life

    We offer:

    • Hope for young people and their families and whanau
    • Comprehensive case management in partnership with young people with alcohol and other drug problems and/or coexisting problems
    • Managed withdrawal
    • Specialist psychiatric and psychological support where required
    • Peer support
    • School based interventions                                    
    • Family inclusive practice
    • Educational and therapeutic groups
    • Referral and support to other services as required
    • Education and training to other professionals and organisations

    Mirror HQ Youth Addiction Services are located on the 4th Floor of Evan Parry House

    Mirror Counselling Service

    Mirror Counselling Whakaata Tohu Tohu supports children and young people aged 3 to 19 years of age who are suffering the effects of:

    • emotional, behavioural or mental health issues
    • personal, relationship and family challenges
    • coping with the effects of trauma, abuse and violence
    • or needing help with social skill development

    Mirror Counselling offers:

    • Individual counselling in a confidential and safe environment
    • Involvement of the family/whanau wherever possible
    • Educational and therapeutic groups as required
    • Referral and support to access other services when necessary
    • Education and training for other community groups and agencies.

    Mirror Counselling Services are located on the 7th Floor of Evan Parry House

    Mirror Youth Day Programme

    Te Whakaata Tohu Tohu Mirror Youth Day Programme is a therapeutic day programme for young people between the ages of 13 and 17 years old who have significant drug and alcohol issues. It runs for the length of the school term, and is based in Waitati just north of Dunedin.

    The Programme embraces a Kaupapa Maori framework. However, it is our intention that the Programme offers services that are appropriate to any culture.

    Mirror Youth Day Programme is located at 8 Foyles Street

     

    Mirror Primary Care Team

    The Mirror Primary Care Team Whakaata Tohu Tohu provides counselling services to children and their whanau/caregivers who are referred through a Gateway Assessment in Otago and Southland. Counselling may be required for a wide range of reasons including:

    • emotional, behavioural or mental health issues
    • family mental health and addiction issues that impact on the child
    • personal, relationship and family challenges
    • trauma, abuse, neglect and violence

    We focus our counselling on helping:

    • children/young people feel more secure
    • children/young people develop resilience and thrive
    • improve parent/caregiver and child relationship
    • supporting parents/caregivers to understand and manage their children’s behaviour and underlying issues/needs
    • parents/caregivers develop positive approaches to parenting

    We offer:

    • Individual child centered counselling
    • Family inclusive practice, focusing on parent/caregiver child interactions and attachment
    • Referral or support referrrals to educational and/or therapeutic groups as required
    • Linking, referral and support to primary caregivers or family to services to address their own needs as required

    Mirror Primary Care Team are located on the 8th Floor of Evan Parry House

    Mokopuna Ora

    A pepi tamariki whanau based service for 0-5 year olds.
