GROW Mental Health Support Groups (Face-to-Face & Online)

GROW provides free community support groups, face-to-face and online, for mental health, self-development, mutual help and friendship.

Our groups support individuals with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, addictive behaviours, psychosis as well as general personal growth and problem solving.

GROW runs groups based on a 12 step programme specifically for mental health and self development.

GROW’s own members run the groups, which are overseen by seasoned trained leaders. Each group’s membership varies in size from 5 to 9 people. All meetings, online and face-to-face, are held weekly and last two hours. Face-to-face meetings are followed by refreshments and socialising.

The meetings combine personal testimonies, reports on progress, group work on members’ problems and adult education about rebuilding lives. Between meetings members keep in touch through friendly phone calls, a variety of organised socials and regular training days.

Group membership is anonymous and open to all.  There is a spiritual overtone and one or two prayers are recited in the weekly Group Method but GROW is not affiliatied with any church or religion.

GROW also provides Online Zoom Groups for anyone, anywhere in NZ or internationally. To receive a Zoom link to an online group, please contact national@grow.org.nz or call 027 614 2561 and provide your email address, phone contact and city/town.
