The Southern District Health Board, with the support of the Central Lakes Locality Network is inviting members of the Central Otago and Wanaka communities to a second Public Meeting on the location of primary birthing facilities in Central Otago/Wanaka.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday 9 September, from 10am, at Wanaka Community Hub, 34 McDougall Street, Wanaka, and is the next step in public consultation.

Mary Cleary Lyons, General Manager, Primary and Population Health, Southern DHB said, “we received more than 330 submissions during the first phase of consultation.  The second round of consultation has included a valuable public meeting in Cromwell on 23 July, and a further 277 submissions were received.

“We will now hold a second public meeting, this time in Wanaka, to discuss the feedback we've received before making a decision.”

RSVPs are essential so we can make sure the meeting is held in-line with Level 2 physical distancing requirements. Please RSVP to maternity@southerndhb.govt.nz by 7 September.

The meeting will also be live streamed on Zoom.
