No further cases of measles

Southern DHB has seen no further cases of measles since 23 July when a visitor from Auckland was confirmed as infectious.

As measles is not circulating in our communities there will be no change to our MMR vaccination schedule of the first dose given at 15 months of age and the second dose at 4 years.

Families are encouraged to ensure all childhood vaccinations are given at the appropriate age for the best protection against vaccine preventable diseases.

Unsure of your vaccination status? Check with your GP.
