There have been no new cases of measles confirmed since the case identified on Friday.
Contact tracing of all close contacts has been done and any further action required has been completed.
Measles is a highly contagious disease, but if vaccinations are up-to-date, then the person is protected.
Vaccination status can usually be verified through an individual’s GP. People are considered immune if they have received two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine, have had a measles previously or were born before 1969. MMR is available from general practices and student health.
There is no harm from an extra dose of the vaccine if a person is unsure whether they have been immunised.
The measles vaccine does not cause the disease.
