Southern DHB invites residents and community members to join us next week as we celebrate the southern launch of the National Bowel Screening programme.

On the 24th and 26th of April we’ll be holding special community events in Dunedin and Invercargill. This will coincide with the first letters being mailed out to people aged 60 – 74 years of age, inviting them to take part in the free home-based testing programme.

The test will save lives through identifying pre-cancerous polyps and bowel cancer early, when it can often be more easily treated.

We invite eligible participants, their families, whānau and wider community to come along and learn more about the bowel screening programme at our community events, and take an unforgettable walk through the supersized bowel.

Dunedin Community launch:

Tuesday 24 April, at the Octagon, Dunedin, 12:00 – 2:00pm

Invercargill Community launch:

Thursday 26 April, Wachner Place, Invercargill, 12:30 – 2:30pm
