Our Workplaces and Facilities
All of our hospitals provide offer superb lifestyle opportunities for health professionals and our rural hospitals offer unique opportunities for those with a rural health interest and seeking a rural town lifestyle for their families, whilst still being close enough to Dunedin or Invercargill Cities.
We have three hospitals in larger centres and six rural hospitals located in smaller townships, all are detailed below.
The rural hospitals are community-owned generally through a local community trust or company arrangement, with the exception of Lakes District Hospital in Queenstown (which is owned by Southern District Health Board). Funding comes mostly from the Southern District Health Board, whilst community support and private contracts provide additional revenue.
