Southern DHB and WellSouth are collaborating with the Community Health Council, health care providers and users to create Southern Health - an inclusive website centred around patients.
Who we are
Southern DHB, WellSouth, the Community Health Council, and health care providers are working together to create the new Southern Health website.
What we are planning to do
We are creating a whole-of-system website which is designed around our community's needs and a patient-centred approach. Southern Health will be an accessible way for our diverse communities to find out a range of information about health care in the southern district. As a whole-of-system website, Southern Health will contribute to making the health system more coordinated and easier to understand.
Where we are at
We are in the early stages of this project and are working towards the new site being completed in 2019.
So far we have:
- Developed a brief in consultation with the Community Health Council, and representatives from across the DHB and wider health sector, to capture our vision for the new website
- Set up a steering group, comprising members from WellSouth, Southern DHB and the Community Health Council, to oversee the project
- Started work with Healthpoint to create a directory of services in the Southern district. Over the next few months, we will be focused on this work with health care providers across the district to create more patient-focused content.
- Developed a brief for the Southern Health brand, in consultation with the Community Health Council. A logo is now being developed to reflect the wider southern health system.
As the project continues, we'll add updates to the blog so you can stay up to date with progress.
