    In Your Hands – a free family violence helpline available 24/7 nationwide 

    The In Your Hands helpline provides support for people who want to change their violent behaviour.

    It takes courage to step up and seek change. If you're concerned your behaviour is hurting or scaring loved ones, we can provide you information and support  to make positive changes for you and your whānau.

    Our helpline is run by trained counsellors who can:

    • Help you to recognise unsafe behaviours in your relationship
    • Support you to take steps to seek help
    • Connect you to relevant support services in your area
    •  Give you self-help and self-referral information
    • Provide advice on how to support others if you’re concerned about their behaviour.

    What is Family violence?

    Family violence can be a range of behaviours that affect everyone in the family and wider whānau. It can take the form of physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse. It can be a one-off situation or a pattern of abusive actions towards a family/whānau member that causes them fear and harm.
