About the Tourette's Association of New Zealand (T.A.N.Z)

The Tourette's Association of New Zealand is a nationwide support network and education service for parents of children with Tourette Syndrome and for adults who continue to live with Tourette's. Currently there are active support groups in Christchurch, Wellington, Palmerston North, Hamilton and Auckland.

T.A.N.Z provides families and schools with material about Tourette's and how to support a child with Tourette's in the classroom. By way of Facebook, newsletters and events parents also share their experiences with raising a child with Tourette's in New Zealand.

The Tourette's Association also hosts Camp Twitch which is an event to connect children and young people living with the disorder and for that child's parent/caregiver. Camps are held annually during the term 3 (September/October) school holidays.

As a charity T.A.N.Z works at educating the public about Tourette Syndrome as well as promoting tolerance of those with the disorder. It is currently working with the Ministry of Health to explore needs assessed services to improve the quality of life of those living with Tourette Syndrome.
