    • Oral and maxillofacial surgery services
      • An initial referral from a general medical practitioner or general dental practitioner is required.
    • Dental care for people with complex medical and/or physical co-morbidities, which prevent them from receiving dental care in private practice
      • An initial referral from a general medical practitioner or general dental practitioner is required.
      • Dental care may be provided for a single issue, or may be episodic or ongoing, depending on service capacity and clinical need.
    • Dental treatment for children under general anaesthesia
      • An initial referral from the Community Oral Health Service (COHS) or general dental practitioner is required.
    • Emergency dental services for adults on very low incomes (as assessed by Work and Income)
      • These are for the relief of pain or infection from a single tooth.
      • Patients can self-refer by phoning the service on 0800 866 847.
      • There is a $35 co-payment per treatment.
