Description
Provides community support for older people with mental health issues, alongside inpatient and day units at Dunedin Hospital.
Southern DHB Older Persons' Mental Health Services are provided at Dunedin Hospital and Southland Hospital.
Dunedin Hospital provides inpatient services for older people at Ward 6C and a day-based service at the Gibson Day Unit. Community Psychiatric Nurses and Nurse Practitioners also support Older Persons' Mental Health Services in the community.
A community based team provides service for the Southland area and is based out of Southland Hospital.

Charges
There are no fees for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one of the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Health. If you do not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay for the full cost of any medical treatment you recieve during your stay.
