New Zealand Federation of Disability Information Centres (NZFDIC)

On this page

Right across New Zealand, the Federation of Disability Information Centres (The Federation) promotes and supports the local provision of generic disability information and referral services that are community integrated, needs driven and focused on achieving the aims of the New Zealand Disability Strategy Document.

Our objective is to provide an impartial information and referral service, through a network of independent community Centres nationwide that operate according to established National Standards.

Our Centres network nationally by voluntarily coming together as Principal Federation Members, for the purposes of upholding established national standards, training, promotion and lobbying.

The Federation holds formal working protocols with strategically associated organisations, in order to network and overcome perceived funding and service overlaps.

The Federation also owns and manages The Federation Academy which provides online training courses for those working with disabled people. https://theacademy.nz

Collectively, our Centres service over 460,000 enquiries each year.

We welcome enquiries from organisations wishing to join us as Affiliate Members. https://thefederation.nz/about/join-us/
