The New Zealand Acromegaly Society

On this page

The New Zealand Acromegaly Society is a not-for-profit organisation supporting and educating those affected by acromegaly and their families.

Acromegaly is caused by excessive growth hormone production due to a pituitary tumour. The disorder is characterised by progressive enlargement of hands, feet and face.

The group was formed in 2010, the response has been tremendous and we became a Charitable Society in 2011 (Charities Registration Number CC46693). We now have over 100 members from all over New Zealand.

The aim of this group is to link us together through peer support, education, and regular social gatherings.

    • To provide information and support to patients and families
    • Organise social gatherings
    • Organise educational seminars
    • Regular newsletters

Visit us at and join us if you or your family member have been diagnosed with this condition; you will meet other people who have gone through the same experiences.
